Become a volunteer

Our 'Blue Angels' assist daily with a range of services to support our staff, patients and visitors.  It’s their aim to make everyone’s visit, or stay a comfortable experience. Their role varies according to each department’s needs.  Duties may include: welcoming and escorting patients and visitors, providing a mobile trolley service to the Wards, assisting and interacting with patients and visitors, performing administration support, assisting in other areas when needed and Communion Ministers.

There are wonderful benefits for volunteering at our hospital. You can meet new people, build self-confidence and become a member of a highly regarded team and attend regular meetings to share news and information.  Our volunteers receive a lunch allowance, free parking, free training and awards and certificates in recognition of their service.

Who we are looking for

We look for people who can communicate effectively with patients, their families, visitors and others who support them. People who can show empathy, exercise discretion and confidentiality and work within the approved policies and procedures of our hospital. They must be able work independently and under direct supervision within the philosophy and framework of St Vincent’s Private Hospital Brisbane. Formal qualifications are not required.
